Very excited about the premiere of Shutter Island Directed by
and Blood Done Sign My Name Directed by
Below is the synopsis for both films .... I will be posting my review soon after their premiere this Friday...
Feel free to share this post with friends. I have noticed that Blood Done Sign My Name hasn't had very much promotion so I really want to make sure I at least get the word out to those who share my world. It is a controversial film based on a true story but what I like the most about it is that it strikes me as a classic that will give the world something to think about. It is not just about African Americans but the film does come to us at a perfect time because February is Black History Month and this movie highlights another untold story. I encourage families to go share this story together. Shutter Island is another "Scorsese masterpiece" which I'm sure will be worth your $10.50. There are only certain types of films that I even bother mentioning and I feel like this might be another classic in its own right as well. These are only predictions but we will soon see what's REEL! Check back soon to see the reviews...

Laeta Kalogridis adapts Dennis Lehane's novel of the same name, with Paramount Pictures and Columbia Pictures splitting production and distribution duties. Ben Kingsley co-stars as the head of the institution where the patient resided, while Michelle Williams portrays Leonardo DiCaprio's deceased wife, whose memory haunts him during the investigation. Max von Sydow, Emily Mortimer, Michelle Williams, Patricia Clarkson, and Jackie Earle Haley round out the supporting cast. -
"BLOOD DONE SIGN MY NAME"
[Synopsis by: Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide]
Author Timothy Tyson's acclaimed novel is adapted for the screen in this sweeping civil rights drama from director Jeb Stuart. Set in Oxford, NC, in the 1970s, Blood Done Sign My Name tells the tale of Civil Rights leader Dr. Ben Chavis (Nate Parker), who played a pivotal role in desegregating North Carolina's public school system, and who would go on to become the youngest-ever executive director and CEO of the NAACP. The film centers on the racial tensions that flared after a white father and son were charged with murdering a black man, and were subsequently acquitted of the crime despite the fact that it took place in full view of the public. -
As always remember to be "REEL" and stay on the MOVE!
